REDEVELOPMENT MASTER PLANS

FOR THE PORT-OF-SPAIN GENERAL HOSPITAL, SAN FERNANDO GENERAL HOSPITAL AND ERIC WILLIAMS MEDICAL SCIENCES COMPLEX

The Ministry of Health is seeking to upgrade three of Trinidad’s major hospitals over a 25-year period. The Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC), the Port of Spain General Hospital (PoSGH) and the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH) are each earmarked for redevelopment, with the aim of creating modern, state-of-the-art facilities. The improvements involve the elimination of wards and the introduction of individual rooms to allow for “privacy and dignity”; an increase in the number of beds; spaces for outdoor therapy and increased parking capacity.

OTA Consulting was part of a consortium engaged to prepare the Master Plans led by B+H Architects from Canada. We were integral in the preparation of Schedule and Capital Costs for the Redevelopment of the three hospitals. The Consortium completed and submitted the Master Plans to the Ministry of Health in May 2015.

SCOTIABANK RENOVATION STARLITE

Scotiabank has expanded and partially renovated their existing branch in the Starlite Shopping Plaza, Diego Martin. When completed, the branch will have an upgraded, lobby and office area of 6,450 sq.ft. allowing both employee comfort and better service to their customers.

First Class Lounge – ANR Robinson International Airport

This project involves both new and renovation works to the upper level of the A.N.R. Robinson International Airport. Work will involve the construction of a first class lounge in the area that was once the waving gallery of the airport. Also included in the works will be the addition of an in transit area for passengers in the existing Departure Terminal as well as the construction of a new enclosed and covered area for the luggage carousel.

OTA Consulting prepared the tender documents, provided the pre-tender estimate and assisted in the tender evaluation process.

Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE) Centres

The Government of Trinidad & Tobago has embarked on a program implemented by the Educational Facilities Co. Ltd, to construct ECCE centres across T&T. The prototype design for these centres exploits natural ventilation and flowing movement throughout the space.

OTA Consulting was involved in the preliminary phase of the project; regularly checking and confirming the budget for the prototype designs. OTA Consulting also prepared tender documents and provided the Client with the pre-tender estimates for prototype designs.

The prototype designs are currently being used on many sites across Trinidad.

St Joseph Village Residence

This beautiful private residence follows ancient Hindu architectural principles with the structure designed to be in harmony with the natural elements.
